At present one out of every seven elderly persons in the world is an Indian. WHO recommends breastfeeding to be initiated within an hour of birth and continued exclusively for 6 months. Often, primi mothers are more anxious and less confident regarding their breastfeeding capabilities as compared to multipara mothers due to a lack of knowledge, confidence, and experience. This study assessed knowledge, attitude and practice regarding breast feeding in primi mothers at Surajpur region of Uttar Pradesh.
